She is also the developer of Integrated Healing Therapies TM and an accomplished musician and recording artist. Near and dear to my heart, she is one of my co-facilitators for Pachamama Alliance’s Awakening the Dreamer symposium. Her book, “The Voice Across the Veil: Powerful Messages from Beyond That Give Us All Hope,” was launched this past Saturday at the Rocky Mountain Writer’s Summit. What an amazing day it was, not only for her as a debuting author, but for all of us in attendance who were able to take in so much wonderful information from authors, editors, graphic designers, and more.

Sue’s book, based on her personal experiences, is truly a gift to the world. Her book’s description at Amazon reads, “The Voice Across the Veil powerfully illustrates that the human spirit transcends death; that those we love are never far away and compassion and forgiveness heal across dimensions. Sharing her own experiences of personal growth, spiritual fulfillment, and knowledge of the sacred, Sue reveals that we on the physical plane have access to astounding help from the unseen worlds. This true story provides comfort, hope and joy by showing our innate connection to the benevolent plan in which we all participate.”

I’m writing about Sue today on this Magical Monday because what she is living right now is a reminder to me that when we listen to our inner calling and respond to it, magical experiences and events begin to happen. Not only did her book debut on Saturday, but she is now being asked to speak at various events and gatherings. Her book sales are climbing. The beautiful mandalas captured by the artist in her book are being sought after. And this is just the beginning of her book journey.

Each of us has gifts and talents to share with the world. Are you sharing yours or is fear holding you back? The world needs what you have to offer. When you live your life’s purpose, the magic begins for you and the world!

My friend Sabrina Risley just posted this to her Facebook page: “Develop and operate outside of your comfort zone but not outside of your ‘gift’ zone.” ~John Maxwell

How can you start sharing your gifts today?

Two years ago, I thought I would have to give up coloring my gray hair because of the chemicals contained in the majority of hair coloring products. I really didn’t want to go “au natural” because my gray hair was very dull and drab; yet I didn’t want to continue to expose myself to harmful chemicals.

I am happy to report that about a year ago I found a product I feel comfortable using. It is Naturcolor and is made in Italy for Herbaceuticals, Inc. It is an herbal permanent hair color product that is very gentle on my hair–I don’t notice any hair damage. This is not a completely “clean” product but is better than most and it does cover gray hair completely.

When I decided to use Naturcolor, I talked with my hairdresser and got her buy-in to give it a try. She was at first hesitant since she’d never worked with it. After many assurances from me that I wouldn’t hold her accountable if I ended up looking like an alien, she agreed to use my newly found product. (Naturcolor is sold so you can use it at home–I just prefer having my stylist do it for me when I get my hair cut.)

Naturcolor worked great–as a result, I’ve been able to continue to have my dark brown hair. As much as I want to be a natural person, I just couldn’t go back to letting people see the dull, drab color that began about 12 years ago to take over my head! Naturcolor covers my gray and lasts until my next haircut is due. I do use Desert Organics Italian Red Grape shampoo and conditioner that is formulated for color treated hair–I believe this regimen prevents my color from fading much.

Using Naturcolor is not a perfect solution but it is one of the better choices if I’m going to use color at all. It is herb-based, contains no ammonia and no resorcinol (scores 8-10 {10 being the worst} on EWG’s Skindeep Cosmetic Database). It does contain small amounts of p-phenylenediamine and peroxide (which both score between 8-10). But if I went for the perfect solution, I’d let myself go gray. Maybe when I’m in my 100’s but not yet…

I had the chance yesterday to revisit a wonderful downtown restaurant here in Denver. Whether or not you are a true vegetarian, Watercourse Foods is a “must try” for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Their menu is completely vegetarian and they use organic ingredients whenever possible.

On their website, they state: “By maintaining a completely vegetarian menu, we believe we minimize our environmental footprint and provide a welcome alternative to many restaurants in the city. In addition to the food we serve and vendors we choose, WaterCourse Foods is dedicated to reducing our negative environmental impact by recycling everything we can, including fryer oil that is converted into bio-diesel. Our to-go containers are completely biodegradable. We serve water only upon request. We offer 10% discounts to bike riders.”

The food is a truly wonderful experience. I like having a place to go where I know I am being served really delicious food while supporting an environmentally conscious organization.

To top it off, they serve water (when requested) in glass bottles and provide you with real glass to drink from–thank you for caring about Mother Earth and your patrons!!
